A specialist in responsibly mined and fully-traceable gemstones, Pool runs companies Nineteen48, Rubyfair and Crown Gems. He works closely with local mine owners to provide a mine-to-market service, emphasising maximum transparency and fair benefits to everyone involved.

Pool partnered with Levin Sources specialists to efficiently document the ways in which his businesses align with the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This helped identify key ways to run operations in a responsible manner, with a definite path to improvement and a commitment to full transparency.

Pool's companies support charitable projects in both Sri Lanka and the UK. He is committed to educating the widest possible audience about issues within the jewellery sector. He supports programmes working to improve conditions, and benefits for those involved in all stages of the supply chains for diamonds, precious metals, and coloured gems.

In addition, Pool is one of the co-founders of Fair Luxury, a group focused on positive change in the jewellery industry, and is a key member of the Moyo Gemstones project.

Pool will be sharing his experience in responsible sourcing and developing businesses that take the SDGs into account.
