Sarah Jordan - Designs and Creates - The Catherine Jones Foundation Pendant
Sarah worked with Catherine Jones for many years, she was one of the first supporters of Sarah Jordan back in the early 90’s. Catherine was a pleasure and inspiration to work with and to this day she thoroughly enjoyed working with Vanessa and Mat who continue to build on her legacy.
Sarah was saddened to hear of Catherine’s passing and wanted to mark this in some way. She proposed to Vanessa that they create something that could be auctioned, with the proceeds going to the Catherine Jones Memorial Foundation. Together with the generosity of the PGI who donated the platinum for the pendant and Vanessa’s donation of the diamonds Sarah has created The Catherine Jones Foundation Pendant.
Inspiration was taken from abstracting the initials CJ and combining Sarah Jordan’s signature style with a nod to the 1960’s when Catherine Jones first opened her shop in Cambridge.
Catherine was not a ‘bling’ person and as such Sarah restrained the use of diamonds using them to emphasize the sculptural shape, three-dimensional form and letting the beauty of the 0.50ct champagne diamond stand out against the platinum.
The pendant will be displayed at the Catherine Jones, PGI platinum event on the 23rd May 2012.
