Earls Court and Olympia (EC&O) has again extended its bookings timeline for the Earls Court exhibition centres and will now take exhibitions until at least the end of June 2013.
A spokesperson also told EN no date has been decided regarding the closure of the venue for the foreseeable future. The news is in contrast to owner Capital and Counties’ (CapCo) original redevelopment timeline, which would have seen the two exhibition centres close straight after its London 2012 commitments.
The original timeline was based on CapCo’s masterplan application gaining approval with 12 months. The masterplan was submitted for approval in June and is understood to be progressing.
Last month, EC&O said the venue was committed to providing organisers with dates at least 16-18 months ahead to ensure they have enough time to market and prepare future exhibitions. This meant bookings at Earls Court were available through to the end of 2012.
News of the significant extension comes a week after Reed Exhibitions expressed confidence that its International Jewellery London (IJL) exhibition would run at Earls Court in September 2012 and 2013.
