Pantone Colour of 2014 - Radiant Orchid

It’s finally been announced, the Pantone colour of 2014 is Radiant Orchid 18-3224. Described as an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, it is a captivating purple that draws you in with its beguiling charm.

With IJL moving to a new home in 2014 - Olympia, it seems quite fitting that the Pantone colour of the year matches the IJL colour scheme. Especially with our new website which incorporates lots of different shades of purple!

Radiant Orchid permeated the runways during the spring 2014 fashion shows so it’s no wonder that it has made the spotlight for 2014. With this in mind we can expect to see lots of jewellery designers incorporating purples into their pieces using sapphires and the semi-precious stone Amethyst.

Pink sapphires deepen in colour as the quantity of chromium increases. The deeper the pink colour the more they are worth.

Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz and occurs in shades from light pink to deep purple. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite pieces below…

AS29 – Pave Flower Studs

Shaun Leane – Ruby Aurora Set

Chopard - Multi-Gem Set Bracelet
