The importance of originality

  • PIPR - Originality Rocks

    What is PIPR?

Promoting Intellectual Property Rights (PIPR) is an initiative that aims to promote the value of originality in the jewellery industry and it is a demonstration of International Jewellery London's (IJL) commitment that no infringement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) will be condoned at the show.

PIPR is collaboration between IJL and City solicitors Royds LLP.

    What are IPRs?

IPRs are personal property rights which are designed to encourage originality and the creation and exploitation of inventions, designs and other materials by entitling the owner to prevent their unauthorised use.

IPRs help you to protect the designs in your work and branding of your products from copying.

    How can PIPR help me?

If you are exhibiting or visiting IJL and have an IPR related issue lawyers from Royds will be at the show ready to provide on-the-spot advice offering an initial 20 minute legal consultation free of charge.

Contact at Reed Exhibitions who will be able to refer you to Royds.

    Who is Royds LLP?

Royds LLP is a long established City law practice. The firm is well known for its intellectual property and commercial litigation practices, among others. Its clients include jewellery and luxury goods companies and associations, banks, airlines, large and small companies and designers.
