US comes to London!

The US - a key, dominant market for luxury goods – will come to London this September with a focus on major US brands and the retail market, at International Jewellery London.

A keynote new seminar ‘Breaking into the US – Practical advice on entering the American marketplace’ – is set to be a popular highlight. It will be chaired by Gail Sackloff, OBE, one of the UK's leading export luxury retail consultants. Her panellists include – Vicki Sarge, the co-founder of Erickson & Beamon and now creative director of VIVKISARGE, Jaqui Lividini the founder of Lividini, the top US brand development agency, who is flying in from New York especially for the event, and designer Tomasz Donocik.

The panellists will talk about their own experiences - from expert views on US retailing and brand development and marketing to entering the US for the first time as a designer - before opening up the session for questions.

The best of US design will be coming to IJL for the first time with a ‘US Design Trail’, in partnership with IJL’s sister show in Las Vegas, JCK. It will allow visitors to easily find American talent and cutting-edge collections of silver and fine jewellery.

Along the Boulevard, International Jewellery London’s stylish central avenue and showcase, top US brand Christopher Designs, known for their impressive designs and patented diamond cut, will launch to the UK market. M.I.D House of Diamonds will also impress visitors.

Around the show, more exciting US brands will be found on the Design Trail. Danhov, with a larger stand, will present their award-winning handmade and hand-assembled collections. "We're excited to enhance Danhov's presence at this year's IJL," said Shant Hovsepian, national sales director for Danhov. "As the premier jewellery show in the UK, this is a great opportunity for us to introduce Danhov and our unique, handmade engagement rings and wedding bands to many international retailers."

Beautiful, organic designs will be shown by La Corza by Sabo Designs, featured in British Vogue and featured at JCK. Other JCK favourites, the Heskia Brothers and unique Oriental Gemco will join them.

Meira T are looking to extend their reach in the UK. Brigitte Tugendhaft, VP of Sales, said: "We have a large Meira T following, but our presence is heavily concentrated in London. The Meira T brand can be found in high end department stores as well as luxury jewellery stores. However, in the U.S the Meira T brand can be found in big and small towns alike which is what we hope to achieve in the UK. Our product is beautiful, feminine, trendy but also affordable and can be appreciated by everyone”.

Sholdt Design are launching to the UK market: Kalee Sholdt, Sales Executive, commented: "We, here at Sholdt, are excited to make our debut to the UK and European markets with our participation at the IJL show! As a fourth-generation jewellery company, our line has grown to become a staple in the American scene for design-driven, sleekly lined bridal jewellery. We are looking forward to meeting a market that is yearning for designs that are simple and fresh."

Oriental Gemco will be launching their new Pavone collection in the UK for the first time after having great success at JCK. The brand has had a positive response to their luxury brand NIGAAM and this year they will also launch The Orient, its first ever silver brand, at IJL. “We are launching The Orient at IJL due to the growing silver jewellery business in the UK,” explained Prateek Nigam.

Bringing the best in UK and international design to leading UK retailers, IJL 2013 will also feature a new Hong Kong Pavilion and a Danish Pavilion. British designer brands will hold their own with stunning showcases of their new collections.
