British Summer Time starts Sunday 30 March at 01:00 GMT, regular as clockwork. This annual tradition affords watch lovers the luxury of a few extra minutes to adjust and admire their timepieces and possibly reflect on new styles to add to their collections. Here is a snapshot of some of our favourites - all of which will be showing at International Jewellery London, the UK’s leading jewellery show at Olympia in August. Tick tock, can’t wait!

Fuelled by the daring spirit of motor sport, the MPH range from Links of London is a high-octane timepiece solution for men. With a choice of bracelet or leather straps and brushed stainless steel or a darker gunmetal finish, there is something for even the most discerning of men (RRP from £295).

The new Links of London Effervescence collection is inspired by the spirit of celebration with the striking star watches crafted from droplets of stainless steel reminiscent of champagne bubbles with optional white sapphire pavé bezels for extra sparkle (RRP from £250).

Links of London’s quintessential Driver collection continues to expand with its simple, bold design and now comes with the option of the classic round, ellipse or latest square dials (RRP from £295).

If bikes are more your thing, the 2014 Tour de France Collection from Festina (the official timekeeper for the Tour de France) will be one for collectors this year, as three stages of the race will be held in the UK. The 2014 Tour de France chronograph has either a steel or an iconic rubberised strap in the shape of a cycling chain (RRP £285). The Limited Edition boasts brown IP plating, sapphire glass and comes in a special box (RRP £475).

Walkies! Radley watches for women continue to pull at the heart strings - partly thanks to the brand’s loyal following and the story it tells. This season’s new 'must haves' showcase Radley’s characteristic flair and style infusing modern influences with innovative design (RRP £115).

Daniel Wellington watches put the P in Preppy. Daniel Wellington has innate style and loves to wear his Rolex watch on old Nato straps, which led in turn to this distinctive collection of watches. These feature clean, slim and elegant lines, complemented by the different patterns and colours of the classic Nato straps. Refined and perfectly round, the Daniel Wellington watch signature is minimalistic - and will appeal to almost everyone with a sense of classic and timeless design. And with interchangeable straps you can have a different watch for every day of the week (RRP from £99).

The Swiss made Nouveau Hexagone luxury watches for men and women from Tresor Paris launch in May 2014. Faces are covered with diamond cut glass for an glamorous Tresor Paris look. Made from 316L Stainless steel, the watches and bezels feature 18 carat white, rose, yellow gold and/or black plating. All the bezels are interchangeable for day/night co-ordination and are available in three sizes, each featuring at least one stunning diamond. There are sixteen different models to choose from, including many unisex gold plated varieties and a handful of options with coloured leather straps, shimmering crystal bezels and sparkly dials for those wanting a dazzling effect (RRP from £495).

Italian watch brand ToyWatch is launching new collections for 2014, including the quirky ToySwing, which combines the classic ToyWatch face with a long chain to form a beautiful pendant. Chic and elegant, its vintage façade, combined with the trend-led prints and colours on the reverse, makes it the perfect accessory (RRP from £155).

Also new is the Velvety Camouflage. This new take on the much-loved Velvety range comes in traditional green camo and has an innovative second skin feel thanks to clever technology (RRP £155).

A unique new way to catch time, Colour Inspiration is a colourful and eye catching new watch brand. German artist Paul Heimbach created this unique concept where moving discs replace the hands and create new colour mixtures with every minute passing by (RRP from £129).

For classic retro style, look no further than a very collectible pre-owned Rolex, such as the on-trend Gentleman’s Bi Metal Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet. The best seller from bqwatches.com was made between 1990 to mid-2000, and is supplied fully serviced, polished and with a 2 year guarantee (RRP from £3,300).

And last but by no means least, are Candino Swiss watches, founded 1947, which come with the Made in Switzerland promise. Most feature sapphire glass and use Swiss Quartz or automatic movements. This year’s collectibles include for Him, the Sports Collection - chronographs, with leather straps (RRP £285) - and for Her the Elegance Collection - watches with CZ stones set into the dial (RRP £219).
