International Jewellery London has announced that new influential industry leaders are joining their highly regarded Advisory Board with immediate effect. The new members are Bec Astley Clarke MBE, Founder of Astley Clarke and Dax Humberstone, Managing Director of Antwerp Diamonds. Another recent member, Mark Adlestone, Chairman of Beaverbrooks, also joined earlier this year. They will all sit on the prestigious Board in the lead up to the September 2014 show which is set to be a landmark IJL, staged at Olympia, London, for the first time.
“We are thrilled with the new additions to the IJL Advisory Board,” stated Chairperson and Event Director Sam Willoughby. “The role of the Board is to capture senior level advice and valuable insight from respected members of the industry. It really helps the show team deliver an event that is relevant, exciting, profitable and engaging.”
With the support of the Advisory Board, the IJL team at Reed Exhibitions are able to produce a show that is reflective of industry dynamics, influences, pressures and trends. Board members act as a voice for themselves, their peers and their colleagues, in order to enhance the visitor experience and add value to exhibitors.
Bec Astley Clarke, who was awarded her MBE for services to the jewellery industry, said: “The UK has so much talent and creativity to offer. I am looking forward to contributing to the IJL advisory board so that the industry goes from strength to strength and IJL gains the recognition it deserves on the international stage.”
IJL 2014 is already highly anticipated to be an exceptional show. The new Luxury by IJL event will be launched and there will be a real focus on high end jewellery, high profile designers and brands, business developments and inspirational retailing and marketing advice.
Just a few of the high end jewellery brands and designers announced so far include Links of London, Hans Krieger, Deakin and Francis, Rachel Galley, Sarah Ho of SHO Fine Jewellery and award winning Sophie Harley, as well as key watch brands such as Ice-Watch, Issey Miyake, Arne Jackobsen, Cross Timepieces, Sector Watches and Radley. The 2014 event is already shaping up to be the ultimate jewellery and watch event in the UK.
Mark Adlestone of Beaverbrooks commented: "It’s been a fantastic few years for IJL. This is an exciting time ahead of the move to Olympia, with luxury and fine jewellery set to be one of the key focuses for 2014. I welcome the opportunity to sit on the Advisory Board, and be involved in shaping the future of IJL, as it has such an important role for the UK jewellery industry as a whole.”
Dax Humberstone of Antwerp Diamonds added: “Having been an exhibitor at IJL for more than 10 years I have seen the development of the show into becoming one of the major jewellery events in Europe. IJL is making huge strides under the guidance of Reed Exhibitions and its advisory board, thus it was a privilege to be asked to join the board and be involved with creating something special for 2014 and beyond. 2014 will be the first year for Luxury by IJL and this will attract even more new visitors and add to that special buzz which Reed Exhibitions has been very good at bringing to the show in recent years.”
Announcements will be made about IJL 2014 show developments throughout the year. It takes place at Olympia, London from 31st August – 2nd September.
